India's dazzling young opener who became a Test star with stunning innings before his 22nd birthday.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on 28 December 2001 in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He grew up in extreme poverty, reportedly living in a tent near Mumbai's Azad Maidan, selling pani puri to survive while practising cricket. His journey from poverty to India's Test opener is one of cricket's great stories. He scored 712 runs in the 2023-24 Test series against England, including two double centuries, and was named among the best openers in the world by age 22. He plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and won the T20 World Cup in 2024.
