Travis Etienne Jr. was born on 26 January 1999 in Jennings, Louisiana, of Louisiana Creole ancestry, to a father who works for an oil industry well service company and mother Donnetta, a nurse, and rushed for 8,864 yards and 115 touchdowns across his high school career at Jennings High School. Etienne played four seasons at Clemson University, becoming the ACC's all-time leading rusher with 4,952 yards and helping the Tigers win the 2018 national championship, earning back-to-back ACC Player of the Year honours in 2018 and 2019 and setting the NCAA record for most career games with a touchdown. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Etienne in the first round, 25th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft, and he developed into one of the league's most versatile running backs, becoming one of only a handful of players to record 3,700 rushing yards and 1,300 receiving yards across the same stretch of seasons. Etienne signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2026 after five productive seasons in Jacksonville, and his younger brother, Trevor, was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2025, continuing a family football legacy from the same small Louisiana town.
