India's rising fast bowling star who went from Hyderabad streets to World Cup winner.
Mohammed Siraj was born on 13 March 1994 in Hyderabad, India, and grew up in humble circumstances. His father was an auto-rickshaw driver who sacrificed enormously to support his son's cricket ambitions. Siraj made his Test debut in 2020 and his debut series in Australia (2020-21) is one of Indian cricket's most inspiring stories — he played through grief after his father passed away during the tour, not being allowed to return home. He took 5/73 at the Gabba to help India win the historic series. He has since become a key member of India's ODI and Test attacks.

His father, an auto-rickshaw driver, died during India's 2020-21 Australia tour — Siraj stayed to play, took 5 wickets at the Gabba, and helped India win the historic series.
