Shubman Gill was born on 8 September 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab, India. He made his Test debut in 2020 after a brilliant World Cup-winning U-19 campaign in 2018. Gill is regarded as one of the most technically gifted young batsmen in the world, with a classical technique that brings comparisons to Rahul Dravid. He scored 208 against New Zealand in the 2023 series and has broken multiple records for young Indian batsmen. He plays for Gujarat Titans in the IPL and captained them to the title in 2022 and 2023. He reached a career-high ODI ranking of No. 1.
