Dominique Stephon "Nico" Collins was born on 19 March 1999 in Pinson, Alabama, the youngest of three children of Don Collins, a surgical technician, and his wife, who worked in human resources, and starred at Clay-Chalkville High School, helping the team to an undefeated 2014 state championship season while catching passes as one of the state's most highly rated wide receiver prospects. Collins chose to play college football at Michigan over competing offers from Georgia and Alabama, before the Houston Texans selected him in the third round, 89th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft. Collins developed into one of the league's most productive wide receivers after a breakout 2023 season, recording 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns, and earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in 2024 and 2025, becoming a favourite target of quarterback C.J. Stroud. Collins has continued to anchor Houston's passing offence, surpassing 4,300 career receiving yards, and remains one of the most physically imposing and productive receivers to emerge from the talented 2021 NFL Draft class.
