Quinton de Kock was born on 17 December 1992 in Johannesburg, South Africa. He made his debut in 2012 and became one of the most valuable players in all formats, particularly in limited-overs cricket. A left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, de Kock is known for his aggressive opening play and natural batting instincts. He scored 5,782 ODI runs and was a consistent performer in Tests until his retirement from the format in 2021. He led South Africa in limited-overs cricket. He was embroiled in a controversial incident regarding 'taking a knee' before a World Cup match in 2021 but later complied.
