Faf du Plessis was born on 13 July 1984 in Pretoria, South Africa. He made his Test debut in 2012 and quickly established himself as one of South Africa's best players. Known for his elegant batting, exceptional catching and strong leadership, he captained South Africa in all three formats. He scored 4,163 Test runs at 40.02 and was a prolific T20 performer, captaining the RCB in the IPL. He retired from international cricket in 2021 and continued in franchise cricket. He is also celebrated for his physicality and fitness levels.
