Jacques Kallis was born on 16 October 1975 in Pinelands, Cape Town, South Africa. He is universally regarded as the greatest all-rounder in Test cricket history, averaging 55.37 with the bat in 166 Tests (13,289 runs) and taking 292 wickets with his reliable medium-pace bowling. He also held exceptional catches in the slip cordon. Only Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting have scored more Test runs. Kallis won the ICC World T20 in 2007 and was part of multiple successful South African sides. He retired from Tests in 2013 and from all international cricket in 2014.
