Three Olympic medals in single sculls — the most decorated Norwegian rower in Olympic history.
Olaf Tufte was born in Drammen, Norway in 1976. He won three consecutive Olympic medals in the single sculls — gold at Athens 2004, gold at Beijing 2008 and bronze at London 2012. He was known for his explosive starting sequence and his aggressive racing style that differed from the technically reserved approach of most scullers. He competed at the Rio 2016 Olympics at age 39. He is Norway's most decorated Olympic rower and one of the most successful individual scullers of the 21st century.
