Two Olympic gold medals in single sculls — Olaf Tufte won at Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, becoming the first man to win consecutive Olympic single sculls titles in decades. His powerful, measured style and ability to save energy until the final 500 metres then devastating opponents made him the most tactically intelligent single sculler of his era. He added bronze at London 2012 at the age of 35.
