Texas A&M's most dominant pass rusher — arrived in the NFL as a ready-made elite defender.
Myles Lorenzo Garrett was born in Arlington, Texas in 1995. He attended Texas A&M University and in three seasons accumulated 31.5 sacks — the most by any SEC player across three years in the modern era. He was a two-time consensus All-American and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. He was selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft — the first defensive player selected first overall in 11 years. His professional career has been outstanding — he has won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award and made multiple All-Pro teams. His Texas A&M career produced numbers that were almost impossible to achieve in the most physically demanding conference in college football — averaging over 10 sacks per season in the SEC. Beyond football he is known as an intellectual and artistic figure — he builds his own mechanical models, paints and has discussed literature in press conferences. His college career at Texas A&M is the most dominant individual three-year defensive performance in SEC history by sack production.
