Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. was born in Pompano Beach, Florida in 1997. He attended the University of Louisville and won the Heisman Trophy in 2016 as a sophomore — the youngest Heisman winner in 45 years. His 2016 season produced 3,543 passing yards, 1,571 rushing yards and 51 total touchdowns. He was the ACC Player of the Year and the consensus All-American quarterback. His three-year Louisville career produced 6,949 passing yards, 4,132 rushing yards and 119 total touchdowns. His rushing production from the quarterback position was unprecedented at the college level and created immediate debate about whether his skills would translate to the NFL or whether he would need to change positions. Baltimore Ravens selected him 32nd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft and he has since become one of the NFL's most decorated quarterbacks — winning two MVP awards and demonstrating that his college assessment was correct. His Louisville career is the launching point for the most significant evolution of the quarterback position in NFL history.
