Gifted Moroccan winger of Dutch heritage whose dribbling brilliance and match-winning ability lit up the Premier League and Champions League.

Hakim Ziyech was born in Dronten, Netherlands on 19 March 1993 to Moroccan parents. A technically brilliant winger and attacking midfielder, Ziyech chose to represent Morocco internationally and became one of the stars of the 2022 World Cup, where Morocco made history by reaching the semi-finals — the first African or Arab nation to do so. He came through Dutch football with Heerenveen and Twente before joining Ajax, where he was outstanding for four seasons and helped them win the Eredivisie and reach the Champions League semi-finals in 2019. Chelsea signed him for £37.2m in 2020. His time in London was productive if inconsistent, and he spent loan periods at Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray before joining Al Duhail in Qatar. For Morocco he earned over 45 caps, contributing heavily to their historic 2022 World Cup campaign.
