The most successful jump jockey in history — 4,358 career wins across 25 consecutive champion seasons.
Anthony Peter McCoy was born in Moneyglass, County Antrim in 1974. He won 4,358 career races — the record for a jump jockey. He was champion jump jockey for 20 consecutive seasons from 1995 to 2015. He rode Don't Push It to win the Grand National in 2010 — his only victory in the race despite attempting it 15 times. He was awarded an OBE and later a knighthood. He was voted the Greatest Sports Personality in Irish history. He was known for riding through injuries that would hospitalise most people — fractures, dislocations and heavy falls were treated as minor interruptions to competition.
