Australia's greatest footballer and the first Australian to play and score in the English Premier League, a warrior who never stopped running for his country.
Timothy Filiga Cahill was born in Sydney, Australia on 6 December 1979 to Australian-Samoan parents. The most important Australian footballer in history, Cahill transformed the Socceroos' reputation globally. He spent his formative career at Millwall before Everton signed him in 2004. His Premier League career was a revelation — he scored 68 goals in 278 appearances for Everton and became one of the most consistent and influential midfielders in the division. He moved to New York Red Bulls, Shanghai SIPG and Melbourne City later in his career. For Australia he earned 108 caps and scored 50 goals — a national record — appearing at four World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018). His stunning volleys and headers from midfield are the stuff of legend, including spectacular goals at three World Cups. He was the first Australian to score at a World Cup in 2006.
