Technically brilliant French playmaker whose flair and creativity delighted fans at Arsenal and Manchester City.
Samir Nasri was born in Marseille, France on 26 June 1987. He rose through Marseille's academy before joining Arsenal in 2008 for £12 million. A skilful, intelligent attacking midfielder, he was named Arsenal's Player of the Season in 2010-11. He controversially moved to Manchester City in 2011 for £25 million, where he won two Premier League titles (2012, 2014) and a League Cup. He earned 41 caps for France. After doping suspension issues, he returned to football briefly at West Ham and Anderlecht. His natural talent was widely praised but his career was seen as unfulfilled given his immense ability.
