Alexandre Lacazette was born in Lyon, France on 28 May 1991. A product of Lyon's academy, he became the club's all-time top scorer before joining Arsenal in 2017 for £46.5 million. A technically gifted forward with excellent link-up play, he scored 71 goals in 206 appearances for Arsenal and won the FA Cup in 2020. He earned 16 caps for France. In 2022, he returned to Lyon on a free transfer, becoming club captain. While not always a prolific scorer in the Premier League, his work rate, intelligence and connection with the fans endeared him to Arsenal supporters.
