The smallest giant — only 5ft 4in but the most influential half-back Great Britain produced.

Roger Millward was born in Castleford, Yorkshire in 1947. At 5ft 4in he was among the smallest elite rugby league players of his era — yet he dominated matches through intelligence, awareness and exceptional passing. He won three Challenge Cups with Hull Kingston Rovers. He captained Great Britain. He is rated by many rugby league historians as the finest technical player the British game produced in the 1970s. He scored 262 tries in his career. He was inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame. He managed Hull KR after retirement for over a decade.
