Rob Burrow is one of rugby league's most beloved and courageous figures, a diminutive halfback who overcame his small stature to become a key figure in Leeds Rhinos' dynasty of multiple Grand Final victories. Diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019, Burrow's extraordinary bravery in facing his illness while raising awareness and funds has made him one of British sport's most celebrated human beings. He was awarded a CBE before his death in 2024.
