Athletic and versatile Cameroonian-Canadian forward who developed from raw prospect to NBA champion and one of the league's most complete power forwards.
Pascal Siakam was born in Douala, Cameroon on 27 April 1994. One of the most remarkable development stories in NBA history, Siakam only took up basketball seriously in his teens before the Toronto Raptors selected him 27th in the 2016 NBA Draft. Under player development coach Nick Nurse and colleagues, he transformed from a project player into an All-Star and eventually the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2019. In that same year he was a key figure in Toronto's historic championship run, earning Finals MVP-calibre performances and contributing iconic moments. He won Most Improved Player in 2019 and was an All-NBA selection multiple times. He was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2024 where he continued his elite two-way play. He represents Cameroon internationally and is the country's greatest basketball export.
