Miralem Pjanić was born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 2 April 1990. He moved to Luxembourg as a child and developed in French football at Metz and then Lyon, where he became one of Ligue 1's best playmakers. He joined Roma in 2011 and then Juventus in 2016 for €32 million. His passing range, vision and free-kick ability were exceptional. He won four Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia at Juventus. He moved to Barcelona in 2020 but struggled, returning to Juventus on loan before joining Sharjah and then NYCFC. He has earned over 100 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina and captains the national team.
