Powerful Bosnian striker who scored crucial goals for Manchester City and became one of Serie A's most prolific forwards at Roma.
Edin Džeko was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 17 March 1986. He survived the Siege of Sarajevo as a child. After impressing at Wolfsburg, where he won the Bundesliga in 2009, he joined Manchester City in 2011 for £27 million. He scored 72 goals in 189 appearances for City, winning two Premier League titles (2012, 2014) and a League Cup. He later joined Roma, becoming their third all-time top scorer with 119 goals. He has earned over 130 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, their all-time leading scorer. He moved to Inter Milan and then Fenerbahçe.
