The Splash Brother — four-time NBA champion and one of the greatest shooters and defenders at his position.
Klay Alexander Thompson was born in Los Angeles, California in 1990, the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson. Golden State Warriors selected him 11th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. His career with the Warriors produced four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022) and a partnership with Stephen Curry that became known as the Splash Brothers — the most prolific shooting backcourt in NBA history. He was selected to five All-Star games. He set the NBA single-game record for three-pointers made with 14 against the Chicago Bulls in October 2018. He scored 37 points in a single quarter against Sacramento in January 2015 — the most points ever scored in a single quarter in NBA history. He suffered a torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals and then a torn Achilles in 2020, missing nearly two and a half full seasons. His return to win the 2022 championship was one of the NBA's great comeback stories. He won Olympic gold with the USA in 2024. He made 2,481 three-pointers across his career. He signed with the Dallas Mavericks in 2024 after 13 seasons at Golden State.
