Leeds Rhinos captain — and the man who raised millions for motor neurone disease charities through extraordinary endurance challenges.
Kevin Sinfield was born in Oldham, Lancashire in 1980. He captained Leeds Rhinos for most of his era of dominance — winning seven Super League championships and three Challenge Cups. He was awarded an MBE for his charity work, particularly after his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019. Sinfield ran seven marathons in seven days, various ultra-endurance challenges and raised millions for MND research — becoming one of British sport's most celebrated individuals for reasons entirely beyond his playing career. He was awarded an OBE in 2023.
