Dynamic and athletic power forward whose scoring, athleticism and shot-blocking made him one of the NBA's most exciting young big men.
John Collins was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on 23 September 1997. An explosive, versatile power forward with elite athleticism and a developing three-point shot, Collins was selected 19th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2017 NBA Draft. He immediately became one of the league's most efficient scorers, combining lob athleticism with a developing face-up game and increasingly reliable outside shooting. He averaged over 21 points in his third season and was considered one of the Hawks' building blocks alongside Trae Young. Contract negotiations and roster changes eventually led to his departure from Atlanta to Utah Jazz. His combination of athleticism, scoring efficiency and shot-blocking ability makes him a genuine two-way talent.
