João Filipe Moutinho was born in Portimão, Portugal on 8 September 1986. A technically polished central midfielder renowned for his precise passing, vision and reading of the game, Moutinho was one of Portugal's most consistent performers for nearly two decades. He came through Sporting CP and earned European attention before a high-profile move to Porto, where he won multiple Primeira Liga titles. Monaco signed him in 2013 for €25m and he was outstanding in France, winning Ligue 1 in 2017 as part of a historic Monaco title under Leonardo Jardim. He later joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2018 on a remarkable free transfer, where he exceeded all expectations and became one of the Premier League's most composed midfield operators into his mid-30s. He earned 146 caps for Portugal, winning Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League 2019.
