Explosive scoring guard whose prolific offense and clutch performances have established her as one of the WNBA's elite scorers.
Jewell Loyd was born in Downers Grove, Illinois on 5 November 1993. A dynamic, athletic and prolific scorer with one of the WNBA's most versatile offensive games, Loyd has been a cornerstone of the Seattle Storm since being selected second overall in the 2015 WNBA Draft. She won the WNBA Championship with Seattle in 2020 alongside Breanna Stewart, and won the WNBA scoring title in 2023 with an average of 21.8 points per game. Her combination of perimeter shooting, attacking the basket and ability to create her own shot makes her one of the league's most dangerous offensive players. She also won Olympic gold with USA in 2020. Her development into a primary scorer in her late 20s has made her one of the WNBA's most improved and impactful players.
