Jalen Green was born in Fresno, California in 2002. He chose to participate in the NBA G League Ignite programme rather than attend college — one of the first high-profile players to use that pathway. Houston Rockets selected him second overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. His career average of 20.9 points per game by age 22 places him among the highest-scoring young shooting guards through his first three seasons in NBA history. He was selected to one All-Star game in 2025. His scoring ability — a combination of explosive athleticism, shooting range and the ability to create his own shot in isolation — has made him one of the more exciting young scorers in the league. His partnership with Alperen Sengun and Jalen Smith gives Houston one of the youngest and most promising cores in the NBA. His scoring has improved each season — from 17.3 in his rookie year to 22.1 in his third season — reflecting steady development. At 22 years old he has already established himself as a legitimate scorer capable of 40-point performances on any given night.
