Jaden Ivey was born in South Bend, Indiana on 23 February 2003. An elite athlete with exceptional speed and explosiveness, Ivey was selected fifth overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2022 NBA Draft. He came out of Purdue with a reputation as one of the most athletic guards in his class, capable of playing above the rim and attacking the basket with ferocity. His development has included improving his playmaking and outside shooting while learning to play off the ball alongside Cade Cunningham. His speed in transition and ability to finish at the rim in traffic are among the best in the league for his age. Detroit has used him as a key piece of their rebuilding process alongside Cade Cunningham.
