Fernando Luiz Roza, known as Fernandinho, was born in Londrina, Brazil on 4 May 1985. After nine years at Shakhtar Donetsk, he joined Manchester City in 2013 for £34 million. He became the heartbeat of City's midfield, winning five Premier League titles (2014, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022), the FA Cup and multiple League Cups. His energy, tactical intelligence, defensive work rate and ability to break up play were invaluable. He made 383 appearances for City and served as captain. He earned 55 caps for Brazil. He returned to Atlético Paranaense in 2022.
