The goalkeeper who scored a 95th-minute header to keep Liverpool in the Champions League race.
Alisson Ramses Becker was born in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil in 1992. AS Roma developed him into one of Serie A's finest before Liverpool paid £65 million — then a world record for a goalkeeper — in 2018. His debut Liverpool season produced the Champions League — his save from Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik in the 86th minute of his final group game was the save that kept Liverpool in the competition. He won the Yashin Award as the world's best goalkeeper in 2019. He scored a 95th-minute header against West Bromwich Albion in May 2021 — a Champions League-qualifying goal that preserved Liverpool's chance at European football the following season — one of the most celebrated individual moments by a goalkeeper in Premier League history. He won the Premier League in 2020, FA Cup and League Cup in 2022. He represented Brazil 86 times. His combination of distribution quality — his kick-start from the back initiating attacks — with exceptional reflexes and composure under pressure defines the modern ball-playing goalkeeper.
