Smooth two-way guard whose three-point shooting and improving defensive contributions have made him one of the San Antonio Spurs' most reliable players.
Devin Vassell was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 23 August 2000. A long, versatile and silky guard with excellent shooting mechanics and a natural defensive profile, Vassell was selected 11th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2020 NBA Draft. He has been one of the Spurs' most reliable performers during their rebuilding years, developing steadily as a scorer and two-way guard. His 2022-23 season was strong — averaging nearly 20 points per game before a knee injury ended it early. Alongside Victor Wembanyama and others, Vassell is part of the young core that San Antonio is building around for the future. His shooting stroke, length and two-way capability suggest continued development.
