Desmond Bane was born in Richmond, Indiana on 2 June 1998. A deadeye shooter with an extremely quick release and improving playmaking ability, Bane has developed into one of the NBA's most dangerous three-point shooters. He was selected 30th in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies and has exceeded all expectations, becoming a core piece of one of the league's most exciting rosters. In Memphis's breakout 2021-22 season he averaged 18.2 points on 43% from three and was an instrumental reason for their rise. He is a multi-level scorer who can create off the dribble or knock down catch-and-shoot threes with equal efficiency. His shooting range and ability to hit difficult shots in late-game situations make him a constant threat.
