The Point God — considered one of the finest point guards in NBA history whose basketball IQ is matched only by his passing excellence.
Christopher Emmanuel Paul was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1985 and was drafted 4th overall by New Orleans in 2005. He has played for New Orleans (2005–11), the LA Clippers (2011–17), Houston (2017–19), Oklahoma City (2019–20), Phoenix Suns (2020–23), Golden State (2023–24) and San Antonio (2024–present). He has scored 22,000+ career points at 18.0 per game with a career 10.7 assists per game — the highest in NBA history across 1,200+ games — and 2.1 steals per game. He holds the all-time NBA assists record and steals record simultaneously. He won the assists title 9 times and steals title 6 times — both records. His top speed of 40.3 km/h and court vision — regularly described by coaches as the best in the game — make him the prototype of the modern point guard. He played 38,000+ regular season minutes. He won 12 All-Star selections and 9 All-Defensive First Team selections. He won Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012. Despite never winning an NBA title — reaching the 2021 Finals with Phoenix before losing to Milwaukee — his individual statistical achievements are unmatched among point guards. He is universally referred to as the Point God.
