2019 US Open champion and one of the most thrilling talents in women's tennis history.
Bianca Andreescu was born on 16 June 2000 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She turned professional in 2016 and produced one of the most stunning breakthrough seasons in tennis history in 2019, winning Indian Wells, Miami and the US Open all in one year. Her US Open title came at just 19, defeating Serena Williams in the final. However, persistent injuries — including a serious knee injury at the 2019 WTA Finals — hampered her career development significantly. Andreescu is known for her clever shot selection, exceptional movement and mental strength. She returned to form in the mid-2020s.
US Open 2019
She beat Serena Williams to win the 2019 US Open at age 19 — in only her second Grand Slam main draw appearance.
