Explosive Portland scoring guard whose three-point shooting and athletic playmaking have made him one of the most electric players in the Northwest.
Anfernee Simons was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on 8 June 1999. A dynamic, springy guard with an elite first step, creative ball-handling and increasingly reliable three-point shooting, Simons entered the NBA straight from high school as the 24th pick of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He developed steadily behind Damian Lillard before coming into his own after Lillard's departure in 2023, taking on a much larger scoring burden. He averaged 21+ points in 2022-23 while hitting 3.7 threes per game. His explosive athleticism and shot-creation make him genuinely exciting to watch, and he has established himself as one of the more gifted offensive guards in the Western Conference. He received a four-year $100m extension from Portland.
