Bernardo Rocha de Rezende was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1961. He is the most successful coach in volleyball history. He coached Brazil's men's team to Olympic gold in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 and women's team to Olympic gold and silver. He won multiple World Championships with both the men's and women's national teams. He was voted World Coach of the Year multiple times. His tactical intelligence and the cohesion he built in Brazilian teams over three decades established Brazil as the dominant force in international volleyball.
