Two-time All-Star and Rookie of the Year — a versatile scorer who competed at a high level across 18 NBA seasons.
Terry Cummings was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1961. San Diego Clippers selected him second overall in the 1982 NBA Draft after four years at DePaul University. His 18-season career produced 16.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and two All-Star appearances. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 1983. He was traded to Milwaukee in 1984 in a blockbuster deal and became the Bucks' leading scorer for five seasons. He played until the age of 38 — a longevity reflecting exceptional physical conditioning throughout his career. He was ordained as a minister during his playing career and was known for his religious beliefs, musical talent and community work in every city he played.
