Steve Rogers was born in Sydney, Australia in 1956. He played for St George — the dominant club in the NSWRFL across the decade of his career. He is considered the most complete centre in the history of Australian rugby league — combining defence, attack and goal-kicking. He toured with the Kangaroos multiple times. He won the Rugby League World Cup in 1975. He scored 127 first-grade tries. He was inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame.
