Scott Francis McTominay was born in Lancaster, England on 8 December 1996 and qualifies for Scotland through his father. He joined Manchester United's academy at age five and made his first-team debut under José Mourinho in 2017. Despite not being tipped for stardom, his physicality, energy and improving goalscoring ability earned him a regular place. He scored crucial goals including a brace against Leeds United and a last-minute winner against Brentford. He won the League Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024 with United. In 2024, he moved to Napoli in Serie A for £25.7 million. Internationally, he has become a key player for Scotland, earning over 50 caps and scoring regularly.
