Ons Jabeur was born on 28 August 1994 in Ksar Hellal, Tunisia. She turned professional in 2010 and became a trailblazer, breaking multiple barriers as she rose through the rankings. She was the first Arab woman to win a WTA title, the first Arab and North African to enter the top 10, and the first to reach a Grand Slam final. She reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 and 2023, and the US Open final in 2022, losing all three. Known for her extraordinary drop shot, improvisation and warm personality, Jabeur became a global ambassador for the sport.
