Elite two-way wing of British-Nigerian heritage whose lockdown defence and evolving scoring made him one of the NBA's most coveted forwards.
Ogugua Anunoby, known as OG Anunoby, was born in London, England on 17 July 1997 to Nigerian parents. One of the NBA's premier defensive wings, Anunoby is a 6ft 7in forward with exceptional length, athleticism and the ability to guard multiple positions. He was selected 23rd overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2017 NBA Draft and was immediately one of their best defenders despite being a rookie. He improved steadily and became an All-Defensive team selection. He was a key part of Toronto's 2019 championship squad. After years of outstanding defensive performances, his offensive game caught up and he became a reliable 20-point scorer. He was traded to the New York Knicks in January 2024 where he further elevated his offensive output while remaining one of the league's best defenders.
