Powerful Belgian midfielder whose aerial dominance and physical presence made him a unique asset at Everton and Manchester United.
Marouane Fellaini-Bakkioui was born in Etterbeek, Brussels on 22 November 1987 to Moroccan parents. He began his career at Standard Liège before joining Everton in 2008 for £15 million. His imposing physical presence, aerial ability and powerful shooting made him a key player at Goodison Park for five seasons. Manchester United signed him for £27.5 million in 2013 under David Moyes. Though initially struggling to adapt, Fellaini became a reliable option under Louis van Gaal and José Mourinho, often used as an impact substitute. He won the FA Cup in 2016 and the Europa League and League Cup in 2017. He left for Shandong Taishan in China in 2019 before retiring. He earned 87 caps for Belgium.
