Carolina Panthers linebacker whose exceptional football IQ, sideline-to-sideline speed and leadership made him a generational inside linebacker before an early retirement at the peak of his powers.

Luke Kuechly was the most dominant middle linebacker of his generation, winning the AP Defensive Player of the Year award in 2013 with the Carolina Panthers. The second overall pick in 2012, Kuechly's ability to diagnose plays before the snap, instinctive pursuit angles, and physical tackling made him virtually unblockable in the middle of the field. He retired at just 28 due to concussion concerns, leaving football with one of the most impressive defensive legacies of the modern era.
