Explosive and skilful French striker whose pace and finishing ability shone at Fulham and Manchester United despite persistent injuries.
Louis Laurent Saha was born in Paris, France on 8 August 1978. He began his career at Metz before moving to Newcastle United on loan and then Fulham, where he became a firm fan favourite with 63 goals in 142 appearances. His form earned a £12.8 million move to Manchester United in January 2004. At Old Trafford, Saha scored 42 goals in 124 appearances and won the Premier League in 2007 and 2008 and the Champions League in 2008, though injuries limited his availability. He later played for Everton, where he scored the fastest-ever FA Cup final goal (25 seconds) against Chelsea in 2009, Tottenham, Sunderland and Lazio. He earned 20 caps for France.
