Leigh Halfpenny was born in Gorseinon, Wales in 1988. He won 99 caps for Wales. His performance on the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia — kicking 49 points across three Tests — won him the Player of the Series award and the Lions won 2-1. He has scored 690 points for Wales — the most in Welsh rugby history. He suffered serious head injuries in 2015 and 2020 that required extended rehabilitation. He is considered the finest place kicker Wales has produced.
