Milwaukee's co-star and 2021 champion — the clutch performer who helped end the Bucks' 50-year drought.
Khris Middleton was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1991. Detroit Pistons selected him 39th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft and traded him to Milwaukee the following year in the Brandon Jennings deal — one of the most lopsided trades in recent NBA history given what Middleton became. His decade-plus with the Bucks transformed him from a second-round afterthought into a three-time All-Star and NBA champion. In the 2021 Finals he scored 40 points in Game 6 to clinch Milwaukee's first championship in 50 years against the Phoenix Suns. In the 2021 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals he scored 38 points in Game 7 against Brooklyn to advance the Bucks to the conference finals. He won Olympic gold with the USA in Tokyo 2020. He averaged 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game across his career. His mid-range shooting — among the most reliable in the modern NBA — and his clutch performances in the 2021 postseason established him as one of the most valuable secondary stars of his generation. Persistent knee and ankle issues disrupted his final seasons but his championship contribution remains his lasting legacy.
