Kalidou Koulibaly was born in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, France on 20 June 1991. Of Senegalese descent, he developed at Metz and Genk before joining Napoli in 2014. Over eight seasons he became one of the best centre-backs in world football. His combination of pace, power, aerial dominance and composure on the ball was exceptional. He made 317 appearances for Napoli and won the Coppa Italia in 2020. He joined Chelsea in 2022 but struggled to adapt and moved to Al-Hilal after one season. He earned over 70 caps for Senegal and captained them to their historic Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2022.
