Joseph John Cole was born in Paddington, London on 8 November 1981. He came through West Ham's famed academy and his quick feet and creative flair earned comparisons with the best. He joined Chelsea in 2003 and won three Premier League titles (2005, 2006, 2010), three FA Cups and two League Cups. He made 282 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 40 goals. He scored a stunning volley against Sweden at the 2006 World Cup. He earned 56 England caps and scored 10 goals. After Chelsea, injuries hindered spells at Liverpool, Lille and Aston Villa. He later became a respected TV pundit.
