Sevilla and Spain legend who reinvented himself from flying winger to dependable right-back across an extraordinary 20-year career.
Jesús Navas González was born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Spain on 21 November 1985. He came through Sevilla's academy and was one of the fastest players in European football. He won two UEFA Cups and a Copa del Rey with Sevilla before joining Manchester City in 2013, where he won two Premier League titles and two League Cups. He returned to Sevilla in 2017 and reinvented himself as a right-back, winning three more Europa Leagues and the 2023 Europa League final as captain. He earned 56 caps for Spain, winning the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. He famously overcame severe homesickness early in his career that nearly prevented him from playing away from Sevilla.
